Global Talents Programme: Effective Communication on Multicultural Platform offers participants the opportunity to engage with professors from the London School of Economics and Political Science and leaders from the UK business community, learning cutting-edge knowledge in economics and finance.

Institution Introduction


The program is organized by the Confucius Institute for Business London, which is a joint venture between Tsinghua University and the London School of Economics and Political Science. The overseas office is located on the LSE campus in central London. Since its establishment in 2006, it has set up a series of teaching points, such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Deloitte, BP, Swire Group, Bank of England, Ernst & Young, J.P. Morgan, PwC, etc., and has maintained various levels of cooperation.


The London School of Economics and Political Science, founded in 1895 in London, UK, is a globally renowned top public research university, a member of the University of London and the Russell Group, and is known as a Golden Triangle school and a G5 super-elite university. LSE is a university focused on social sciences and is a global pioneer in the field of economics and finance, enjoying an excellent reputation in political and business circles. According to the QS World University Rankings, LSE ranked second in the world for social sciences and management from 2013 to 2020 for eight consecutive years.


Program Introduction:


The program integrates traditional business theory with global economic trends, teaching students how to develop business thinking and enhance management methods in multicultural and cross-cultural environments, and understand business operation models.


All students can directly engage with LSE professors and UK business leaders in the classroom, learning in-depth and broad professional knowledge that combines theory and practice and keeps pace with economic trends.


Teaching Method: The program adopts a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach, learning professional knowledge under the instruction of LSE professors, and undergoing practical training under the guidance of world-class financial executives, participating in business, economic, and market research. The program will help students conduct research in business management and other fields from a global perspective, inspiring students' comprehensive abilities in investigation and research, public speaking, innovative thinking, critical thinking, and logical reasoning on a diverse cultural business platform.


Teaching Schedule: Starting from July 1, 2024, the course will last for 12 days, with a total of 40 teaching hours, including lectures, tutorials, and project discussions. Students will be grouped to design group project topics, write topic reports, and complete presentations. For detailed schedules, please refer to the attachment at the end of the document. Students who successfully complete all courses will receive an official certificate of completion and transcript issued by CIBL.


Application Requirements

Proficiency in English for learning and communication, meeting at least one of the following conditions:

  • CET-4 score not less than 550

  • CET-6 score not less than 520

  • IELTS score not less than 6.5

  • New TOEFL score not less than 92

  • If none of the above conditions are met, applicants can be assessed through a Confucius Institute for Business London interview.

Applicants must pass an online interview according to the program requirements.
